Rolul LifeLong Learning in dezvoltarea sustenabila a Romaniei

 

Learning & Development Summit is an annual event, dedicated to all the stakeholders in the field of Lifelong Learning in Romania and the EU.

 

Learning & Development Summit 2012 will take place on the 29th of March 2012 in Bucharest:

  • 5 international special guests 
  • 8 interactive sessions dedicated to individual and organisational learning
  • quality professional networking between learning communities

The event aims at raising awareness towards a culture of learning, at both organisational and individual level. The special workshops and guests will enhance discussions, debates and projects dedicated to learning, involving different actors of the Lifelong Learning field in Romania.

Valerie Anderson

Valerie Anderson, University of Portsmouth Business School

Valerie (Chartered MCIPD, BA (Hons), M.Ed, PhD) is a Principal Lecturer in HRM at the University of Portsmouth Business School. She is a recognised academic expert in issues relating to the strategic value and evaluation of HR activities; the use of measures and metrics in HR, and the role of line managers in HR. She is a committed ‘practitioner-researcher’ seeking to exploit the best of HR theory and practice to deliver HR effectiveness in organisations. Valerie acted as a methods advisor to CIPD for their land-mark Shaping the Future Project in 2008-10, the project where Romanian HR community had its own contribution.

Prior to her career in Universities Valerie gained extensive management and consultancy experience working with public and private sector organisations.

In addition to writing for scholarly journals and books she has developed many practical tools and fact sheets for practitioners to use, four of which were produced as part of the CIPD Shaping the Future project and which focused on: Engagement; Alignment; Metrics and Measures, and Talent and Capability Management. She is the author of the CIPD textbook Research Methods in HRM.

 

 

 

Harry Bundred

Harry Bundred, ITOL: "Learning and Development is the new ‘game’, L&D being about: learning, connecting, innovating and changing."

Harry Bundred changed his career and training is his second profession since twenty years ago. He embraced it fully and from free-lancer he became the Managing Director of the Rhema Group(between 1998 and 2005), a company founded in 1985, now a leading provider of training, coaching and personal development resources worldwide.

Harry Bundred is the director of the Institute of Training and Occupational Learning since 2005 and has contributed immensely to its growth and international awareness.

He has worked with organisations from every sector of industry, commerce, local and national government, not-for-profit organisations and the Armed Forces in Europe, Middle East, North Africa, Asia, North America and Australia.

ITOL has started his journey as the UK’s elite professional body for trainers and L&D Professionals, ten years ago, when the UK government granted ‘Institute’ status. In 2011, ITOL has had an excellent experience in its 11 international centers - UK, Bahrain, HongKong, India, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Nigeria, Qatar, Romania, Sudan - through professional recognition, international qualifications, accreditations and numerous events. Magnus PerssonMagnus Persson, The Learning Teacher Network

Magnus Persson is former head teacher and now for seven years Senior Manager at the Directorate of Education in Karlstad, Sweden, with specific assignment on quality management in education and international affairs. Since 2002 he is the Coordinator of the Learning Teacher Network, a European network and association. Magnus Persson has been engaged in centralised European projects for 15 years and has wide experience in EU policy and educational programmes, project management, and international networking. He was editor of a trilogy of books on the future role of the European teacher and is member of editorial boards for the network's magazine and academic journal. Persson is member of the UNESCO Chair's reference group to re-orient teacher education to sustainable development. On national level in Sweden he has been involved in local government bilateral projects with Turkey and with initiatives related to education for sustainable development (ESD).

The Learning Teacher Network is a European, educational, non-profit association working within the EU Lifelong Learning Porgramme on Education for lifelong learning, Education for all, and Education for sustainable development (ESD). Originating as a Comenius 3 network funded by the Commission, since 2006 the network is member-based and one of few sustained EU networks in education and training. Performing as an international platform for the professional debate on research and best school practice, the network comprises all levels of education and training and has today a member base in 29 countries in Europe and beyond. The Learning Teacher Network arranges international conferences and European training courses, produces a quarterly illustrated magazine targeting schools and an academic journal, and mentors the creation of new European projects.

 

 

 

Peter StruppPeter Strupp, AchieveGlobal 

Peter Strupp is AchieveGlobal CEE partner. He's a graduate of Harvard Business School and currently Co-Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce - Employee and Labor Committee and on the Executive Committee of Young Presidents' Organisation (YPO) in Warsaw, Poland.

From 1989 to 1991, Mr. Strupp worked for Constellation Bancorp as a International Trade Specialist and Credit Analyst in Woodbridge, N.J., USA. He moved to Warsaw, Poland in 1991 with the Polish-American Enterprise Fund (now named “Enterprise Investors”) a $240 million private equity fund. He taught hundreds of commercial bankers in credit policy, international trade finance, project finance, loan procedures and corporate credit analysis in BRE Bank, Polish Development Bank (PBR), The National Economic Bank (BGK), Bank PKO BP, BOŚ Bank among many others.  

He became President of the Board of United Business Development in 2005 and has since converted the company into a joint stock company. The focus of the company that has now operations in Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic, Serbia and Turkey is diagnostics, facilitation, coaching and training on organizational culture change and leadership development. He is now a Board of Management member and the major shareholder of the company.

Perry TimmsPerry Timms, Big Lottery Fund UK

Perry introduces himself as "the most passionate and enthusiastic HR practitioner you’re ever likely to meet...!" In 2006 he started working with Big Lottery Fund UK and since 2008 he has been Head of Talent & Organisational Development.

He is a Chartered Member of the CIPD, has a range of experiences having held leadership positions across different business roles around HR/Organisational Development, Business Transformation and IT change. He has designed and built Talent strategies and he has led Talent, Learning & Development and OD teams in the design and delivery of a range of key activities covering core business, improving performance, coaching, talent management, developing leaders and employee engagement. He is a qualified Executive Coach specialising in high-potential staff, Directors and Senior Managers and he has been a speaker for CIPD conferences, for Henley Business School, Harvey Nash and at a number of leadership and talent development conferences and seminars.

Alecsandra Litu

Alecsandra Litu, ROI Institute - AchieveGlobal

Alecsandra joined AchieveGlobal in 2006 and is now Trainer and Consultant.

She has a deep passion for both individual and organisational development and has an active role in developing and implementing solutions for a wide variety of clients.

Her journey started in Learning & Development almost 10 years ago working as a HR coordinator for an NGO. The switch to banking, where she held the position of Training Consultant, helped her gain awareness of the return on investment approach and hands-on experience with performance management and development systems. By becoming in charge of the ROI Institute within AchieveGlobal Romania, Alecsandra has leveraged her previous exposure to the business sector as well as her experience with people development projects.

 

 

Gigi AndriesGigi Andries, Evolutiv Consultants Network

Senior Trainer and Consultant in organisational development with Evolutiv Consultants Network, Gigi is certified for delivering the programmes 360 Solutions (USA), Buying Facilitation (USA), NLP Practice and Coaching Fundamentals, Six Thinking Hats-DeBono. He gratuated the Diploma in Management from the Open University Business School and he is a tutor for the courses: Performance Management and Management for Development and Change

He managed the training and consultancy department of CODECS from 2004 to 2007 and since 2007 he has founded together with other 8 colleagues Evolutiv Consultants Network, company that is now a member of ITOL.

Gigi created and delivered training and coaching programmes for organisations from every sector of industry: banking, insurrance, IT, automotive, medical, steel industry, FMCG, mechanical, food&beverages, constructions, etc.

He says that for him and his colleagues from Evolutiv Consultants Network: "learning means the permanent battle of not letting life to pass by".

The 2011 edition took place on the 27th of April, at Hotel Novotel, in Bucharest.

The central theme - „Ethics in Learning of Development” was under debate in the first part of the event, by a panel of professionals from privat and public sector. The second session was dedicated to workshops positioning Lifelong Learning as a fundamental element in Romania's sustainable development strategy.

The first edition, held in november 2010 hosted the leaders of top learning providers in adult education. The Summit concentrated on practical solutions to reach collaboration between the public and privat educational sectors in order to harmonize request and demand on the competencies market.
